We are Left Wondering

It’s 9-11, and most Americans are remembering, writing, grieving, crying, or sharing.

I too am experiencing the deep despair I felt as I watched the planes hit the twin towers. The images are fresh in my mind, and I continue to wonder how this devastation, this loss in human lives, this raw hatred helps further anyone’s cause.

I will never understand the motivation for this behavior, or what joy anyone can glean from such a horrendous act. It is beyond my ability to comprehend.

What I can do is reach out with kindness, offering my hand to those who are suffering from this and other man-made catastrophies, and reminding them of the power of the human spirit to heal, forgive and love.
