15 years ago today, my husband got a new life, an extension of his life with some changes.
15 years ago today he received a new lung; a healthy, functioning organ donated anonmously by the family of a young man killed in an accident.
15 years ago today he began liking peanut butter.
15 years ago today he began walking without a walker.
15 years ago today he disconnected the oxygen tank that he had depended on for years.
15 years ago today he could breathe with ease.
15 years ago today his life was saved.
15 years ago today we cheered, cried, laughed, and celebrated.
15 years ago today he gained 3 more years to share his uniqueness with the world around him.
15 years ago today…a miracle happened.
wow. 15 years ago today? I so remember that.

What a wonderful reminder and tribute to Dad! Come February 14, I will be able to celebrate another miracle (though I’m not sure of exact number of years)…you became a permanent part of our family and an incredible blessing to Dad and all of our family!!!

Yes, life is precious. We often don’t know how precious until we feel the hole left by someone’s going.
