Birds Of A Feather–Part 2

Okay, I’m hooked. I am having more fun watching the fledgings as they have grown over the past 2 weeks. It’s like they grow an inch an hour. Amazing.

I’ve taken pictures every day from the day the nest was built of mud and whatever, to today when the first birdlet flew from the nest in desperation to get away from my camera.

(Please understand most were taken through a window because they would hide if I climbed my ladder to get better shots. But you will get the idea about their activities–eating and sleeping.)

The first born

Two babies began to beg

   Then there were 3

In just hours five little beaks became visible

And they hatched out hungry

Mama and Dad keep busy feeding these new borns

Just how far will I fall if I can’t fly, they wonder.

The last picture of the first one to fly away

The ones left behind marvel at his courage, but remain in the nest, for now.

I’m a convert…these swallows can return anytime they want, mess and all.
