Houses and Barns is the topic for Cee’s Fun Foto Challenge, and I found these pictures I took when volunteering in Kenya several years ago. The slums in Nairobi provided insight into the lives of the thousands of residents who live in homes many of us would describe as shanties and shacks. But home is where the heart is…

The pictures hold a raw truth a palpable sadness. I saw similar in India, as I write this I look around and am grateful for my everything… which seems so vulgar now. 😇

It does add perspective to our lives when we see what others don’t have…and how we oflten misuse what we do have.

As you must have found when taking the photo. Though I feel honoured to have been there and experienced a little of their reality. Thank you for reminding me. 😇

One thing that traveling abroad offers is the opportunity to view the world from a different perspective, thus allowing comparisons of our lives to other cultures and people.

Yes, I imagine it does. I traveled to London a couple of times and loved it there, however, it is not a country that shows a comparison like what you encountered..

I didn’t find anything like this in London, but admittedly I didn’t look too closely. I was busy seeing the pomp.
