What to do Next?

I’m living in a tornado, or at least that’s what it feels like, and what my house looks like.

The only safe place may be my bathtub and hopefully no one will turn the water on.

Only 8 days until I leave for my six months in lovely Mexico, and the winds of change have been whipping around like a wind storm. Getting ready for an extended stay away from home seems more daunting than I thought it would be.

Last minute details can eat up your days, and I haven’t even begun to pack. A few things I have done the past two weeks (just in case you may be interested):

  1. Had folks stay with me as part of my Airbnb venue
  2. Enjoyed my sister and brother-in-law who are here until we leave
  3. Spent 2 days meeting and enjoying our newly found half-sister (what a delight that was).
  4. Grieved for my sweet doglet Jasmine who died Sunday
  5. Resigned from several boards and ignored the shouts of joy I heard from other board members
  6. Cleaned closets and given away not enough clothes and ‘stuff’
  7. Entertained my cousin and his wife while they were visiting my aunt in the nursing home
  8. Felt overwhelmed and out of control

What I haven’t done is:

  1. Pack
  2. Make a list of what I need to do next
  3. Get a six month supply of my meds
  4. Say ‘see you soon’ to folks I’ll miss
  5. Write my blog daily
  6. Read my emails and respond for about 4 weeks
  7. Figure out what settings to use for my cell phone so I don’t get charged for every second its used
  8. Feel unstressed
  9. Wipe the smile of anticipation off my face

What I will do when I get to Mexico (you may now be experiencing some jealousy):

  1. Relax
  2. Catch up on my emails and blog posts
  3. Relax
  4. Post on my blog regularly
  5. Prop my feet up
  6. Have a smile of joy on my face
  7. And did I mention Relax?

So, in case you have missed me…please don’t tell me if you haven’t noticed I’ve been absent…I’ll be in and out for the next couple of weeks, but thinking of each of you in a mass sort of way.

  1. I recognise the late packing. I always want to improve in that direction to be more orderly and organised. I end up taking too much stuff with me because I think I need it. I have never been away for 6 months though so I shouldn’t have too much to say

    1. Thanks for your response…and for the word of encouragement. Why is it that there seems to be less pressure in San Miguel than here in the U.S.? Maybe because I don’t understand what is being said in Spanish so I can ignore the bad news. But, its time to get back to my lists.
