My photographs this week for Norm’s Thursday Doors were taken in a covered ‘mall’ in San Miguel de Allende in Mexico. The first picture is early morning when the shops are closed.
The second picture is later in the morning when businesses are open, but crowds haven’t formed yet for holiday shopping. This mall is part of a much larger market, where you can buy fruit, vegetables, flowers, t-shirts, knickknacks, roasted corn on the cob, fabrics, silver, and cooked meals. This is one of several large markets primarily visited by San Miguel native residents.

How early did you get out of the house to take that first pic? Being from Europe I’m familiar with indoor and out door markets:)

Actually it was about 9 a.m. Apparently this particular market opens later in the morning. I’ve walked through there around 11 and it is still slow going. The other end of the market where the produce is sold is busy earlier. This particular section is more retail goods.
