My favorite place since childhood has been Robber’s Cave State Park just out of Wilburton, Oklahoma. The cave where early day outlaws hid from the law is part of this serene scene on the shores of Carlton Lake.
Early Morning Mist on Carlton Lake
Dam on Carlton Lake
Another of my favorites is in Italy on the shores of the Mediterranean Sea
And of course, my current location in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico.
These are not my only favorite spots. I love the Sunshine Coast of Australia north of Brisbane in Queensland. And Christ Church on the south island of New Zealand. The vastness of Monument Valley in Arizona, in the United States, and the streets and walkways of London are other places I could spend my days traveling and enjoying. I can’t forget the perfect tranquil weather in San Luis Obispo on California’s Central Coast.
I’m lucky to have tasted a bit of many places where I have left traces of my heart.
I love your closing line ….

Thank you. Isn’t that what we do…we leave a touch of ourselves as we claim pieces of where we have been?

We do and we carry a little of the place in our hearts too … in that way we are threadlessly joined to all we have loved

These are beautiful places… it was hard to pick a few. I left out many too. 🙂

When I think about it, people leave traces of their hearts with us when they leave. Thank God for large hearts.
