Norm’s Thursday Doors Photo Challenge—CCC Built

My summers were spent in this southeastern Oklahoma town with my grandparents, and one of my favorite memories was of going to the state park 5 miles out-of-town and swimming in Carlton Lake. The rock building housed the bathrooms and the dressing areas for swimmers, picnickers and hikers, and was built by the CCC workers during the Great Depression.

The building still stands, as does the swimming area, and crowds continue to come to relax,  play and climb at Robbers Cave State Park.

  1. Great doors and what a gorgeous stone building!

As an aside, I have been absent for several weeks whilst I effected a rather major move. Now that I am settled it is a pleasure to be able to dip back into the blog-pool and over time I will catch up with all I have missed. And of course, write some of my own too, thought that may be construed as a threat rather than a delight 😉

    1. I have missed you, Osyth. I too have been ‘out of sight’ for a couple of weeks and will be for another 3 weeks while I am back in the states. Catching up with friends and family is a full time job! But it is lovely to reconnect in person. Heading back to San Miguel for another 6 months in early June and my routine will return to normal. Glad you like my pics, and thanks for letting me hear from you.

      1. Enjoy your time with family and friends … I do understand very well. Living in a different country is wonderful and going back home to visit is lovely but SO tiring and full-on. I will be happy to ‘see’ you when you get back to your normal. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy 🙂
