Fun reigns each June when people of the communities and neighborhoods in and around San Miguel de Allende celebrate in the streets with the unique Los Lobos parade, maybe the granddaddy of all local parades.
The history and traditions about this event is worth the read at http://www.atencionsanmiguel.org/2016/06/17/los-locos-parade-and-story/.
Spectators line the parade route streets, and participants don (usually) handmade costumes in themes selected by each area.
It is a day of dancing, singing, and joyful fun celebrating the farm workers, with a large taste of craziness. I’ll share more pictures of various adaptations of themes so you too can have a few minutes of SMA excitement and enjoyment.
These images were a gorgeous start to my day.

Yes indeed. Traditionally the costumes are to be handmade, but not certain if some are store bought. Whatever, it is a fun day.
