We often think of the “other half” as the wealthy, but we find poverty throughout the world today. These are pictures I have taken on some of my travels that show how more than the ‘other half’ actually live.

Yes, we have much to be thankful for. Yet, that other “other half” could do so much to alleviate a lot of that suffering – a few of them are, but there are so many others that do not.

When we are reminded that the ‘haves’ control a sizeable amount of the wealth worldwide, it becomes apparent that sharing would go a long way in helping those in so much need. Thanks for your response.

There’s a lot to process here. From a pure artist/photographer standpoint my favorite is the woman cooking for the school. But on the human level there seems to be so much wrong that people live like this and the problem is so huge as to be overwhelming.

Isn’t she grand? Did you notice the cat sitting almost on the fire at the cook’s feet? Circumstances dictate our role in life, and we can urge the folks who occupy the first half coffers to give to the other half that continues to struggle in poverty.

The other Half! You’ve certainly shown us all how this other half lives. As Peter said, we have so very much to be thankful for. Thank you for sharing these pictures Margo and also for choosing to link them to Weekly Prompts.
