Ecstatic

When am I Ecstatic?

Is it when I hold a newborn, or a puppy’s warm breath caresses my cheek? Do I feel ecstatic when my heart swells and I lose myself in the musical magic of a cello ensemble? Or when the sun disappears leaving the sky ablaze with reds, pinks, oranges, and purples playing among the clouds?

Is it ecstasy when tears streak down my face as I laugh uncontrollably, or when crying with joy as a wrong is changed to a right?

Am I ecstatic when I celebrate love with the same gusto as victory, or when I applaud equality rather than self-promotion?

Humanity requires a heart breaking and a heart soaring to know ecstasy.

This is my contribution to this week’s challenge for Brew n Spew Cafe’s prompt of Ecstatic.
