This is my contribution to Kammies Oddball Challenge for this week.
Recently I passed a church at the end of a funeral as the coffin was being carried out. To my surprise the hearse was a horse trailer pulled by a pickup. I’ve known of lots of things hauled in such a conveyance but not a coffin.
The scene was peaceful, respectful, and solemn, and the vehicle was adorned with flowers and balloons, as is typical of Mexican funerals.
I found it touching and couldn’t resist taking pictures of the event. I mean no disrespect, it was just odd to see and it was a snapshot of life in this wonderful country.

I’ve not seen that before either. Odd and interesting. I wonder if it was a personal touch, or financially driven. Hmmmm….

My sense was it was financial and/or cultural. Those attending weren’t dressed up in suits and dresses, but were in jeans. So, I’m guessing it was a farming family.
