Day of the Dead Doors

Door ways, streets, and buildings are decorated vividly each year in celebration of Day of the Dead, November 1. This is a solemn yet joyful day when the spirits of our ancestors are remembered and honored with marigold blooms, candles, pictures, water, food, and items recalling spirits of our loved ones. San Miguel, as all towns and villages in Mexico, are creative in the objects they use to recognize the people we have loved.

And of course, no Day of the Dead will be complete without skeleton images and face painting.
