Giving Thanks on Thanksgiving

In the United States today is Thanksgiving Day, a span of 24 hours when we share food, time, and blessings with our loved ones and those we may not know.

Some years it is difficult to give thanks for our plight in life. Perhaps we have lost a loved one, or had financial reversals, or face physical impurities. Feeling blessed isn’t at the top of our emotional list during those periods.

But this is the day when we look around us, see the beauty of our earth, the generosity of strangers, the love of children, and the feast of food before us.

I am grateful for my life, for you being a part of my writing life, and for my belief that peace on earth is possible.
