And the Answer Is…Celosia

I asked the question about the name of this flower in yesterday’s Flower of the Day Photo Challenge hosted at Cee’s blog, and several folks responded with what must be the correct answer.

Thanks to those who responded and for India’s comments about the bloom:

“Celosia, commonly known as cockscomb. It’s one of the flowers used for Day of the Dead. The other being Marigolds. They come in several colours but it’s the red one that gave its name.”
