I took these pictures several years ago while touring Copper Canyon in northwestern Mexico, a trip I would recommend.
The indigenous people living in that part of the country are known as Raramuri or Tarahumara and live in rough plateaus ‘cut by deep gorges and canyons’. They are farmers and raise goats and cattle, and create pottery and blanket and basket weaving crafts.
