The Message

Her body signals signs of defeat, Finale etched in her frame, Appearing beaten in surrender. But look again. Not conquered nor crushed her soul resting, Preparing to rise from the shadow of doubts Her body like a graceful phoenix welcoming a new day Replacing despair with confidence Leaving you to determine her message.

Parading in Blues

Mexicans celebrate with parades, and blue seems to be one of the more popular colors used to express fun and accolades. The first two pictures depict some parade characters, and the last picture caught my eye at an art gallery in San Miguel de Allende. A Mime Within?

A decision has been made. The nameless has a moniker. Life for this wandering soul is good. What are we talking about, you ask? You may recall last spring I acquired a piece of art that was unusual, unique, and probably not to everyone’s liking. But I loved her. Madonnari Chalk Art Show in SMA, Mexico

Sticks of colored chalk, a large expanse of flat stone, and smudged hands blending, softening, darkening, and tinting, created a feast of art in the Plaza Civica in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico this weekend. Artists sprawled on the walkways, each with a picture, a vision, or a sketch of what they were going to… Continue reading Madonnari Chalk Art Show in SMA, Mexico

A Stone-Faced Oddity

In my January 7, 2019 blog I promised more examples of art produced at the Made by Anado art gallery in the tiny village of Atotonilco just outside of San Miguel de Allende, Mexico. This ‘stone-headed’ rock/boulder caught my attention and I just had to share it. See more oddball challenges at https://nuthousecentral.wordpress.com/2019/02/21/kammies-oddball-challenge-2-21-19/

Floor Art at Parque Juarez

I’ve been wanting to use these pictures for a couple of years and haven’t found the best topic until now. They fit the prompt of ‘Floor’ since I found them on the sidewalk as you enter Parque Juarez in San Miguel de Allende. The paintings, faded and foot-worn, are no longer there and have been… Continue reading Floor Art at Parque Juarez
